How much water is there in the pond?

As part of maths and science, we have been looking at capacity and volume as well as measurement. We decided to conduct an investigation into how much water is in the pond? To find out the answer, we initially built a metre by metre cube out of cardboard boxes. This challenge enabled us to determine how much water would fill the cube, we found out to fill the cube it would take 1000l of water. We then used this to estimate how many cubes we could fit into the pond. We estimated that 36 cubes would fill the pond, therefore we esteimated that 36000litres would fill the pond.
